Before being cast, she does not know anything about acting, but she did read the books, and did play the role. Tammie admits that her character Rebecca is her favorite Jane Hoop Elementary character, and was very thankful to staff members to cast her as the role.

While portraying Rebecca, Tammie is forced to wear a wig for her character's signature long hair up because of the actress has normal short hair. Tammie states that she hates wearing wigs until she finally has her hair grown long and has used her real hair until filming Morphin the Power. She states while finally had to use her real hair besides a wig for Morphin the Power: I got so relieved that I finally have some more hair, because I have been waiting forever to let my hair grow." Although, Tammie admits that she wants her character with longer hair, so she puts on extensions for the role in the last three films.

Before starting production for Turbo of Catland, Tammie states she won't be returning, but eventually she changed her mind and does not want to see anyone else to play Rebecca, stating "leaving Jane Hoop Elementary without finishing up is the worst idea of my career". However, rumors confirmed that Tammie indeed will not return. Christensen responses to rumors: "It will not feel like home without Amy. I have no interest in seeing another young actress to play Rebecca. It just does not fit well. The only thing I want a young actress to play Rebecca is... Amy. End of story."

Screenplay Brian Clark admits that Rebecca is his favorite Jane Hoop Elementary character.

In December 2015, Tammie signed up to reprise her role as Rebecca in the sequels of the original film series spin off series, Heroes Forever: Heroes Forever: The New Resolution (2017) and Heroes Forever 3 (2018).
