While the franchise is set to begin in two weeks, Warner Bros. first installment Heroes: A New Beginning barrlowly broke a new record for a film that is not a sequel, while most films sold tickets were sequels. It said that more than 1,300 theaters has sold out tickets in North America, and 25 percent will be attending the film's special midnight screenings.

As of November 10, Heroes has accounted 62 percent from Fandango.com, scoring as one of the best selling tickets of 2011 since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, which has accounted 98 percent. The Twilight Saga: New Moon still holds the record as best selling tickets of all-time.

While fans has already edge out tickets to attend the film's opening, it's opening weekend should be very big enough to take on Alice in Wonderland's $116 million from last March for biggest weekend debut for a non-sequel film. Deathly Hallows - Part 2 is currently the best weekend debut of 2011 with $169.1 million as well as in history.
